School will dismiss at 11:30 today. Busses will run. Lunch will be provided before dismissal. There will not be Appleknocker care after school. All practices and games have been canceled.

Mrs. Guijon's 8th grade ESL Reading class finished a Novel-Unit on Rebeldes, spanish-version of The Outsiders. These were a couple of the final projects done by her students.




The Cobden Student Mental Health Advisory Council and the Cobden FFA would like to thank the community of Cobden and the Toys for Tots organization for their generous donations! All items will be donated to storm victims. Donations will be accepted until Friday afternoon!

Congratulations to Abbigail Remsey for being nominated as the AJ Rotary Student of the Quarter for Quarter 1. She was nominated for her outstanding work ethic in the classroom and her positive attitude.

Seniors Olivia Brumleve and Callie McGee recently attended Senator Bryant's Youth Advisory Council meeting at SIUC. They heard from a number of speakers and worked on developing a bill that will later be presented in Springfield.

Cobden High School's Student Mental Health Club is hosting a food and supply drive this week to pack Kevin and Wendy Cox's trailer they are taking to Kentucky this weekend. We encourage students and community members to donate nonperishable food, bottled water, hygiene products, and other supplies to help the victims in Mayfield, Kentucky. If you need assistance with having items picked up, you may contact Mrs. Reiman and she can coordinate someone to get your items. Let's send some Appleknocker pride to help support the Mayfield community.

Jr. Beta is helping make Christmas a little brighter for several local children in need. Members donated over 50 items and helped wrap them to be distributed to families in the coming weeks.


Winter Sports Orders and Retake Picture Orders are due no later than Wednesday, December 15. You may drop off your payment to the high school office.
