This morning members of the Cobden Youth & Community Advocates club (CYCA) helped the Laborers' Local 773 with the Pandemic Relief Food Distribution at the downtown park in Cobden. Approximately 35 pounds of fresh produce, meat, and dairy from Cusumano's & Sons were loaded per vehicle.

Co Op student, Luis Villalva job shadowed at Mack Trucking in Carbondale. Luis will be training with Mack upon graduation and will then be hired on full time. Luis has an outstanding work ethic and has shined in the Co Op program.

The event will last as long as supplies last. Approximately 35lbs of fresh produce, meat, and dairy from Cusumano's & Sons will be loaded per vehicle. Please remain in vehicles at all times.

Special thanks to Officer Jeff Stroehlein with the Union County Sheriff's Office for talking to students in Mrs. Nash-Mayberry's Civics class on a Google Meet. He talked about what his job entails, but the main focus was about his grandpa Gene Clutts, who was a prison guard and sadly was murdered in 1983 by an inmate at Marion Penitentiary. Students had read an article about the murder during a unit about the death penalty. Officer Stroehlein shared information about his grandpa, and the prison system.
