Several of our students were rewarded for their hard work this week with an awesome field trip to the Discovery Playhouse. Students read their hearts out all school year long and earned enough AR (Accelerated Reader) points to be able to participate in the field trip. Way to go Appleknockers!
Dear Parents,
The Kids on the Run 5K will be Thursday, June 1st at 10:00 a.m.
The race might start a little late because we do not want to overlap with the 8th grade promotion at the Jr/Sr High, which is anticipated to end a little before 10:00 a.m.
The race will take place at the Cobden Soccer Park, any and all family members are welcome to come cheer on our students. Bring a chair and an encouraging poster and stay a while.
The entire elementary school will attend the race to cheer on their peers. All students will be allowed to be signed out to go home after the race.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me at abjackson@cusd17.com. If the race has to be canceled for rain, it will not be rescheduled. THANK YOU!
Allison Jackson

2nd grade spent Monday exploring Alto Pass. They started the day with a 2.5-mile nature hike on Quetil Trail. Students brought their nature journals to observe and sketch the environment while they hiked. After completing their trek, they ate a tasty lunch provided by Duty’s Country Store. They wrapped up the day playing and having fun at Alto Pass Park.
Big shoutout to PTO for paying for lunch and fun park activities for the second graders!
