Today we were privileged to have a visit from the Food Works Mobile Farmers Market truck. Each grade level visited the market to learn about fresh, locally-sourced foods that are available in our community. Students participated in an activity and were given "play money" to purchase fresh produce and baked goods. Students and staff loved this visit!

Building Friendships that last. Did you know that building friendships helps with all areas of your development? In Pre-K friendships are very important this helps build skills like sharing, taking turns, managing disagreements, listening to others and so much language development.
The pre-K class helped build friendships today by playing a matching game which helped students in recognizing and recalling other children in their class.

Our second graders had an amazing time with “Snack Math” this week! Using crackers, pretzels, and marshmallows as their hundreds, tens, and ones blocks, students turned math into a tasty and educational adventure.

What do you do when you're angry? This week the Pre-K have been learning about our emotions. That it’s okay to be angry. It’s just what we do with our anger. We learned positive ways for handling our red hot angry feelings in the classroom.
With help from my friends we made a chart.
When we get angry we can:
Take a deep breath,
Get a drink of water,
Count to 10,
Go to the red think about it chair,
Go to the cozy corner,
Cry,
Talk to our teachers. They are here for us.
When Sophie gets angry, really really angry she feels like a volcano ready to explode. We made a volcano today in our classroom.
